Dr. Donne K. Ameme

Dr. Donne Kofi Ameme is a medical doctor and field epidemiologist with experience spanning clinical practice as well as design, delivery and evaluation of public health interventions. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) degree and Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in Applied Epidemiology and Disease Control from the University of Ghana, and a postgraduate specialization in Public Health from the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons. He was a fellow of the Africa Programme for Advanced Research Epidemiology Training (APARET) as well as the Global Partnership Initiated Biosecurity Academia for Controlling Health Threats (GIBACHT) jointly offered by Bernhard Nocht Institute of Tropical Medicine, Robert Koch Institute, Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute and the African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET). Donne has been AFENET Regional Technical Coordinator for Anglophone West Africa since 2021. Prior to that he has served as Resident Advisor for the Ghana Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program, where he supported in building Field Epidemiology capacity for Ghana and other West African countries including Liberia, Sierra Leone, The Gambia and Guinea Bissau. He has demonstrated capacity in leading and supporting the preparedness and response efforts for major outbreaks as well as designing and implementing epidemiological studies. Donne has been an Editorial Board Member of the BMC Public Health since 2018 and has authored several publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals.
