PANDEMIC FUND SUPPORTS 5 RESIDENTS OF GHANA FELTP ADVANCED COHORT 18
Five (5) Advanced FELTP Cohort 18 residents from Ghana were supported with funding from the pandemic Fund as part of their two-year training to equip them with the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to become effective field epidemiologists. The purpose of the support is to increase the workforce for preparedness and response to health emergencies as per the national public health workforce strategic plan.
Details of the support include:
- Academic training cost – Tuition, accommodation and monthly subsistence allowance
- Supplies- Laptops with MS Office and antivirus installed, laptop bags, statistical software (STATA), T-shirts and jackets
- Field training costs during outbreak investigations, surveillance system evaluations, secondary data analysis and public health practice
Outputs for the reporting period are surveillance system evaluation, outbreak investigation and the one-day field work reports.
